Classes lining up for 2014 start. More later.

Very busy year. One son helping me wrest a studio out of a clutter filled attic semi-room.
Starting a gelli-printing class with Linda Germaine on the 14th. Going to take one, at least, of Julie Fei Fan Balzer's classes too.

Oh, and did I mention that I have hardly held a stamp or a stamp pad.
All signed up for whirlwind four weeks in an online art journal class. Flunked intro as you can see with the Adobe image on the right hand side of the page.  I was attempting to manage a link to Judy Wise class. The class is not scheduled to begin until Mar. 12, 2012, so I can't blame it on instruction.
Next up is making a hand sewn journal with paper that I am ordering tomorrow. Nothing by halves. If you're going to fall from the ladder, don't let it be from the bottom rung.
Blogging skills - vy sketchy
Scanning skills - definitely dodgy
Digital manipulation skills: Gimp is gimpy, no Photoshop; it's on the computer I gave away years ago.  Prognosis - Dismal
Collage - Experience practically nil
Painting - Technical skills - Rudimentary
Sketching - it's too bad that my sketching skills are surprisingly satisfying, because the thematic word choice would have been soooo easy, but I can't get away with it. If not entirely predictable, my sketching is my one tool that is pretty good and getting better all the time.
I have faint hope but open heart.

No uploading yet.

Sorry,
Not ready to show anything just yet. I'll get to it, but it's more getting the pics uploaded to my Mac first. I haven't photographed anything I've draw or painted. I just realized that. What a scaredy cat. Like someone out there might discover I'm learning.

Got the box with one coat of varnish for oils
Painted around town and down the beach on Thursday, views of a house I've always liked
Telling people I'm painting
Enjoying pushing paint on the surface
Tomorrow I'll paint that watercolor in oils on a small canvas that I have

I just love pens, pencils, brushes, paper, cardstock!

Is it enough to just love the materials and tools?
I made a painting today. Very little effort. I'm reading Phil Metzger's Perspective Secrets. Quite a title. Sort of like I'm reading a mystery story, which I also like. I've been frustrated with most of what I draw and paint looking amateurish, so I'm beginning with the principles. Gotta go right now, but I'll post a pic later.
